NEACO Higher Education Champion

£26,243 to £32,236 per annum

The Higher Education Champion is a member of the Network for East Anglian Collaborative Outreach (NEACO) programme as part of the National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP). You will be managed by the County Co-ordinators for Norfolk. The Higher Education Champions are responsible for encouraging underrepresented groups within the region to consider studying at university or within Higher Education (HE).

This post will be based out in schools or colleges in the Kings Lynn area, but will be linked with The University of East Anglia. As such you will be expected to work in schools across Norfolk, and the wider East Anglian Region.

The Higher Education Champion role focuses on the organisation, administration and delivery of NEACO initiatives. These could range from short taster sessions and lectures to school children and organising mentoring or tutoring sessions through to residential visits, which take place over several days and trips out to HEIs and employers. The wider purpose of the NCOP project is to accelerate progress on widening access for disadvantaged young people into Higher Education (HE).

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and be able to satisfy all essential criteria detailed in the person specification for this post. This appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

The post is available 19 August 2019, or as soon as possible thereafter, on a full-time, fixed-term basis until 31 July 2021. Closing Date: 25 July 2019
