Session Worker

Would you like an active weekend job supporting young people to have fun and to develop their skills and independence? We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable Session Workers to work as part of a team at our groups for children and young people with special needs. Caring Together is an ambitious regional charity that provides emotional and practical support, advice and guidance to carers of all ages and their families, as well as opportunities to take a break from their caring role. Our vision is of a world where caring is made easier. Groups take place on Saturday mornings from 9am to 1pm. Session Workers can work weekly or alternate weeks at any of our groups, which are based in Cambridge, Ely and St Neots. Our groups cater for young people with autistic spectrum conditions, learning and physical disabilities from 5 to 19 years old. You will need to be proactive in delivering a varied programme, supporting young people by offering choices, fostering independence and having fun through art, craft, games & cooking as well as sensory and outdoor play. You will be expected to take part in training to support your role and will be paid for your time doing this. This is an exciting role and you will need to be someone who is patient, solution focused, a good communicator and willing to be adaptable to the young people's needs and wishes. Caring Together is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults and children and expects staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are an equal opportunities employer. If you feel you have what it takes, please apply here. If you would like to know more, please contact Chloe for an informal chat about the role
