Web Designer & Developer

Our client is looking for a passionate and skilled Web Designer & Developer who keeps up to date with the latest industry trends and has a fantastic eye for detail. The ideal person will have a strong work ethic and a happy; positive attitude and be comfortable communicating with the development team and clients to understand their needs and make improvements on a day to day basis. The Role: Design and develop the customer facing front end and user journeys for the websites and apps the company creates, using the latest web technologies. A large part of this role involves working directly with clients, to ascertain their needs, along with the needs of the users, as well as looking at competitors and existing products to identify areas for improvement. Depending on how established a client or product is, company branding is also sometimes required, including logo design and corporate styling. You'll get to work for clients across multiple industries, on a wide variety of projects including web and mobile apps, websites, company branding, iconography and more, so it's an excellent way to gain experience across numerous areas of design. Some Key Responsibilities: Planning, creating and mocking up user journeys, via the use of interactive wireframes. Creating full colour designs of web applications, mobile applications and websites. Building page and screen layouts based on the designs, using HTML, CSS and Javascript. Writing up and creating project quotations and specifications. Interfacing directly with the client to establish their needs and make changes to existing mock ups and designs. This includes email and Skype communication, as well as face to face meetings. Keeping up to date with current trends in both web design and (mostly front end) development. Marketing on social media, posting updates about clients design and development news, along with helpful tips and inspiration. On occasion, creating video walk-through of products developed by the company. This is a fantastic opportunity to work locally but command a London salary DOE. THE PERSON: The ideal Candidate will have: Extensive experience with front end development using HTML, CSS and Bootstrap is required for this role. Knowledge of Javascript is also highly desirable, but not an essential requirement. A minimum of 2 years commercial experience with HTML and CSS. Experience in planning out user journeys and creating wireframes. Experience and be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch. Extensive knowledge of HTML, CSS and Bootstrap. Experience with Javascript is also desirable, but not required. A friendly, helpful and confident personality. Good written and verbal communication skills
