Engineering Support Manager

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineering Support Manager to join a well-established company based in King's Lynn Company The company is a leading Automation solution provider within the Ceramic high-pressure casting industry supplying and installing capital equipment worldwide. With nearly 30-year experience and a solid reputation, the company is now looking to build the next phase of its development by reinforcing its technical leadership within the field of traditional ceramics and of technical ceramics. To support their ambition, they are looking to appoint an Engineering Support Manager who will work within the newly formed Service division. Based in King's Lynn, we are looking for candidates with experience in engineering and management to help the growth of our clients Service division. Key responsibilities (your job is): § Communicate with customers, building a close working relationship via service levels and site visits. § Manage the commissioning engineer team while at client's sites working to an agreed schedule § Completing reports about departmental milestones and progress and liaise with scheduling. § Training and development of commissioning staff § Act as first point of contact and provide a rapid response and on-site technical assistance to customers worldwide with problems, issues, or complaints.This may be outside of standard working hours. § Compile and issue O & M Manuals for PCL casting machines § Plan the offsite customer training programs and customer documentations § Review, update and fully document maintenance procedures. § Support the commissioning team involving some installation work in the field as and when required. § Monitor and control all offsite activities in relation to costs and schedule § Organise and carry out In-house customer trials § Support the technical department on new development work § Supervise and where necessary assist with machine build and pre-commissioning of machines at PCL prior to shipment. § Arrange and be responsible for equipment loading at PCL and unloading off site support § Produce reports and presentations using software such as PowerPoint § Able to prioritise work according to business need. § Achieve expected performance KPI's Person specification Education and qualifications § Mechanical Engineering and man management background § Experience in electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, preferable § Prior experience in a managerial or supervisory role including planning and budgeting § Flexible with the ability to work around business changing needs § Good understanding of working with clients worldwide Key skills and competencies § Ability to travel worldwide § Competent in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Scheduling and PowerPoint) § Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings § Good problem-solving skills § Effective communication skills at all levels both written and verbal § Full understanding of client requirements, ethics and ability to incorporate local rules and regulations when working abroad. (90% of the work is carried out overseas) § Highly organised and able to effectively manage conflicting and competing priorities § Basic understanding of programming and automation would be beneficial Benefits
