Laboratory Team Leader

The main responsibilities of the role will be: Supervision of the laboratory team Team performance management Driving continuous improvement with systems of work and team members Managing work flow through the laboratory with emphasis on customer focus and customer awareness Working with Technologist Team Leader and Technologists to establish deadlines and allocate testing to individuals in the team Ensuring laboratory work is in accordance with ISO 17025 quality system Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with a health and safety system Organising and authorising purchases of laboratory consumables and chemicals Working with head of CAT to create, implement and review staff training plans for the testing team Ensuring good housekeeping in the laboratory and storage areas The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of the chemical testing of products in a regulated laboratory and be able to demonstrate this. A Degree in chemistry or similar science subject (2:2 or higher) or 5 years laboratory/supervisory experience are essential. Excellent organisation, time management and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to lead and inspire a team. Experience in working to deadlines, problem solving and working in a logical and methodical manner are key requisites of the Team Leader role.
