Job Purpose This role is ideal for a talented Web Developer with a proven track record in delivering high-quality web projects/ You will be working as part of the development team and be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality, secure code over a portfolio of projects. You will have an aptitude for creativity, problem solving and experience in the latest development technologies. You will also able to demonstrate a strong focus on delivery, a passion for continuous learning and the ability to work well within a team context. The role will involve interacting with key business stakeholders and in particular our marketing team who are key partners in defining and delivering our marketing and communications strategy. Key Responsibilities Operational Management Oversee Web development projects, including intranets and extranets. Develop, code, install, test, debug, and document Web applications using appropriate editors. Update Web pages to ensure site accuracy and currency. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with existing Web applications and sites. Work with database administrator to design, develop, and update databases as they relate to Web applications. Ensure security of all Web sites and related applications. Perform periodic Web site audits. Monitor and report on Web site traffic and performance. Ad hoc project support as requested by business leaders or line manager Strategy & Planning Develop and communicate Web site usage and security policies and standards to all users. Define Web site architecture and overall site structure. Establish policies and procedures for publishing Web pages and applications in conjunction with content creators. Acquisition & Deployment Perform cost-benefit analyses of proposed Web implementations. Conduct research into current and emerging Web technologies and issues in support of Web development efforts. Person Specification Essential Requirements Experience in Wordpress development and custom theming Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript & jQuery Good PHP knowledge Experience with MySQL & MsSQL Experience of RESTFul API and web automation Experience with LAMP stack Desired Skills & Experience Understanding of the UX/UI design principles Understanding of data formats such as JSON & XML Experience using Google AdWords & Google Analytics Ecommerce experience (Shopify viewed favourably) Some exposure to Microsoft Sharepoint Understanding of GIT (Version control) Server set-up & hosting Experience with MVC frameworks Easy going, friendly with good communication skills Accountable and confident to take on projects with a good level of independence Dedicated and accountable for their work, willing to go the extra mile to ensure their work is delivered on time and to a high standard Hard-working and prepared to take on new challenges Good team player and eager to learn and contribute For further information or to be considered for the role, please contact the Talent Team at Apogee Corporation today This job was originally posted as
