Technical Presales Manager I am currently recruiting for a leading IT Services organisation who are expanding their service offerings and through strong investment are going through a period of huge growth. As a result they are adding a Technical Presales Manager to their team, who will be responsible for leading, motivating, and developing a team of technical presales team members. The primary focus of the team is to engage with Sales Account Managers to support opportunities within their core portfolio, and produce high quality solutions designs, whilst simultaneously promoting the product and services offering, and assisting the sales lead to close the opportunity. Responsibilities Prioritising and scheduling presales work in collaboration with the Sales Management team and Head of Presales Qualifying opportunities with the Sales team to ensure they fit within our technical portfolio, identifying and managing risks Ensure the Presales team follow business governance processes for opportunities the work on including peer and management review and operational/delivery team review Actively support and steer the propositions team in technical insight and guidance in solutions being developed for the portfolio Attending Sales Meetings to represent Presales within the Sales community Mature and develop the Presales process to support the growth and evolution of the business Manage the team to maintain Presales records related to opportunities within the CRM platform Where required attend and present at webinars and events to help promote the portfolio and develop market opportunities Manage the Technical Presales team ensuring they have up to date training and development plans Utilisation and status reporting for the team and adhoc reports as requested Ensure accreditations and training is maintained within the Presales team relevant to their vendor status requirements working with the vendor management team Maintain a positive working relationship with related departments including Project and Service Management, Procurement, Vendor Management, Propositions and Service Delivery. Evaluating requirements to establish a solution which addresses customer needs and delivers value to their business Establish assumptions and risks to the solution, manage these throughout the lifecycle of the solution creation and transition process Prepare solution and commercial propositions for approval through the bid review process Tuning the solution to address specific customer needs without jeopardising the integrity of the solution Ensuring that the feasibility of the solution aligns with actual services and planned delivery potential Accompanying Sales to present the solution verbally to the customer explaining value add Ensuring a successful handover to operations for solution delivery Work with the contracts team to ensure the appropriate service schedules are created in line with the solution design for contract submission for solutions developed by the Presales team Establish and cost appropriate service take on/transition projects working with Project Management Contributing to service development activities Knowledge, Skills, Experience Direct Management experience of technical/Presales teams. Alternatively, are an experienced Pre-Sales operator used to managing virtual teams and are looking to apply acquired skills in management Experienced and proven track record of leading bids and winning from SMB to Enterprise level in a broad selection of market sectors Ability to understand complex customer requirements and articulate those from the customer's perspective Ability to quickly understand a customer's environment to establish support and managed service requirements Good understanding of market trends and industry best practices Proven experience in creating similar managed service/outsourcing/support-based solutions Competent documentation/solution proposal generator Strong analytical and conceptual skills Team worker who can lead a virtual team across sales and technical functions Able to operate up to CxO level both internally and externally when presenting, negotiating scope, technical, and commercial Ability to operate, develop and create complex commercial models This is a great opportunity to join a leading company who are growing and expanding through investment and market penetration.
