Senior Director of People Location: Flexible Hours: 35 Contract: Permanent Salary: Circa £95k Are you a Senior Leader who can drive change within a large organisation? Do you have experience of creating and delivering people strategies which define organisational culture? Can you deliver a collaborative, nurturing environment in which volunteers and staff are inspired, motivated and enabled to support the organisations priorities? Our exciting and ambitious 2030 Strategy will transform how the British Red Cross helps people in crisis, with people at the centre of everything we do. We want to build a movement of people empowered to take humanitarian action across the UK that makes a true difference to someone in crisis. Our movement will be powered by kindness and will bring together individuals inspired and motivated to make real change for those who need it most. The 2030 strategy has given us a vision of what we want to achieve over the next 10 years. Now we must focus on how we can build a sustainable organisation to get to where we need to be. As part of this strategy we are recruiting a Senior People Director who will be integral to our move towards 2030 and beyond. The role will report directly to our Chief Operating Officer and we are looking for an influential leader who can challenge ideas and build upon and enhance our people culture and practices. Why this role matters We are on a journey, but there is still progress to be made. This role will be responsible for leading our People Function and driving change. It will create, shape, and deliver our People Strategy that drives culture and behaviours, embeds our values and fundamental principles as well as enabling the BRC to achieve its strategic goals. We're serious about doing things differently and this high-profile role will own the delivery of cross-organisational and/or cross-directorate objectives on behalf of the COO, with full accountability for achieving successful outcomes. You'll be right for the role if... You have operated in a Senior Leadership role designing, developing and leading a People function with a focus on collaboration and engagement. You can deliver a multi-disciplinary, organisation-wide, people plan that aligns with strategy and values. You are an inspirational leader who encourages collaboration and engagement with experience leading a significant People function in a large/complex operating environment. MCIPD qualified or can demonstrate equivalent knowledge through experience or study. You have strong knowledge of employment law and best practice in HR and people approaches.
