We have an exciting opportunity for a Materials Controller to join our Procurement team on a 12 month fixed term basis until April 2022. The primary function of this role is to ensure the right products are available to meet the requirements of internal and external customers. You'll be the 'front-line' point of contact for Vendors and key business stakeholders, and as a result, you'll need to ensure effective communication is achieved, alongside development and maintenance of relationships. A key element for Procurement being successful is the accurate and timely forecasting of demand from the different sales streams and ensuring we have the right product at the right time. Your role will be responsible for forecasting and managing supply vs demand, to maximise efficiencies through supply chain and support our commitment to customers. You'll be working with various teams across the business, such as Quality, Technical, Manufacturing, Marketing, Finance and Sales which is why excellent interpersonal skills are vital. Controlling, building and strengthening supplier relationships to continually improve performance is essential and you'll have the opportunity to make a positive difference in relation to efficiency and streamlining systems. You'll have a 'can-do' approach with a flexible and positive nature, and be happy to deal with the analytical aspects of this job. You'll need to have excellent attention to detail and be a self-starter who can independently manage and prioritise workloads. Experience in a materials or procurement role will help you to hit the ground running, and knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and experience of the mechanics around MRP systems, preferably within SAP, is crucial.
