Job Title: Functional Skills Tutor Location: Field based/ Remote Summary and Main Purpose: The Functional Skills Tutor will plan for, teach and support Traineeship students to complete their functional skills qualifications. They will achieve this through delivering classroom and remote based sessions as well as through small group, individual and tailored 1-2-1 support. The post holder will be supported to trainees to ensure that they are supported throughout their duration on the Traineeship Programme Key Accountabilities: Guide and support learners and their employers in the effective pursuit of their Maths & English individual learning programme and progression planning Support transition activities for learners progressing from their Math's & English programme Adhere to organisational and funding requirements for completion of induction paperwork. Maintain regular contact with learners and deliver high quality learning and development. Monitor and review programme activity and standards to ensure funding and Awarding Organisation guidelines are met and comprehensive records of participation and outcomes are kept. Ensure all learner records and reporting are kept up to date and provided in a timely manner to support management reporting and audit requirements. Attend regular team meetings and Moderation/validation workshops. Undertake regular progress reviews and offer guidance to learners on how to improve performance. Liaise with other staff to support achievement and the embedding of English and Math's within your contextual delivery. Interpret guidelines, effectively plan, implement and review training programmes and assessment tools for nationally accredited qualifications. Ensure timely achievements are met, including retention and achievement targets by implementing strategies and supporting learners in self-esteem and confidence-building activities. Provide robust exit advice to learners as they set personal goals for career progression. Take responsibility for the learners FS journey plan, assist admins with booking exams. Manage your own continued professional development through undertaking relevant training and sharing of best practice. Key Requirements: Qualifications: Essential Qualified in English and Maths to at least level 4. Hold a Subject Specialism in English/mathematics, eg: Level, subject specific degree, Cert.Ed. or equivalent. Experience within a tutor role working with 16 learners delivering Maths & English Relevant occupational experience / qualification Experience: Essential Proven track record of consistently exceeding targets and KPIs in an employer facing sales environment Experience of using IT programmes competently Experience of working to strict deadlines and in a responsive environment Skills and Knowledge: Essential : Exceptional interpersonal, communication and organisational skills Sales and business development skills Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload Essential to be able to demonstrate experience of the relevant occupational sector Desirable: Understanding of Government funded training Understanding of apprenticeship programmes Personal Qualities and Attributes: Essential: Be personally energetic, dynamic, positive and enthusiastic Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Conscientious, assertive and self-disciplined Desire to succeed and adaptable to change Ability to work in a team and independently Ability to work flexible hours and locations Professional and presentable Clean driving licence and access to a car A strategic and commercial attitude A creative, lateral thinker and energetic team player with a high level of enthusiasm Ability to prioritise and work under pressure with good time management Overnight stays will be required Remit Group is an Investors in People Gold and Health & Wellbeing awarded employer who pride ourselves on being a company putting our learners and colleagues at the heart of everything we do.
