Our client has a new and exciting vacancy for a Lab Team Leader to work within their CAT business area. The main responsibilities of the role will be:
• Supervision of the laboratory team
• Team performance management
• Driving continuous improvement with systems of work and team members
• Managing workflow through the laboratory with emphasis on customer focus and customer awareness
• Working with Technologist Team Leader and Technologists to establish deadlines and allocate testing to individuals in the team
• Ensuring laboratory work is in accordance with the companys ISO 17025 quality system
• Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with the companys health and safety system
• Organising and authorising purchases of laboratory consumables and chemicals
• Working with head of CAT to create, implement and review staff training plans for the testing team
• Ensuring good housekeeping in the laboratory and storage areas Candidates should have a good understanding of the chemical testing of products in a regulated laboratory and be able to demonstrate this. A Degree in chemistry or similar science subject (2:2 or higher) or 5 years lab experience in addition to 1-2 years people management experience are essential. Excellent organisation, time management and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to lead and inspire a team.
