Network Operations Centre Engineer

Magdalene operates as a Telecommunication Infrastructure Services Company and is part of the Telecom Division of M Group Services. Covering the full network lifecycle, we deliver Managed Services and Projects for both fixed and mobile infrastructure networks across the operator and utility markets. We are looking for a Telecoms Network Operations Centre Engineer to be part of our Network Operations Centre in St.Ives, Cambridgeshire on a 9 Month Fixed Term Contract. What will you be doing? You will be responsible for monitoring, diagnosing and managing network faults for our Managed Services customers to ensure key availability and Mean Time To Repair targets are met. You will be responsible for the customer interaction with fault identification, recording, dispatch and management to resolution. Internally you will be responsible for ensuring customer requirements are managed through our processes and systems (Field Service Lightening). The role is part of Magdalene's Service Management Organisation and will work collaboratively with other departments to capitalise on Magdalene's end to end service capability and increase value to our customers. What will your key responsibilities be? Monitoring of various customer networks across different technologies. Carrying out initial diagnosis on faults and escalating issues into 2nd & 3rd line support as required. Prioritising faults to meet SLA's including resource management of external contractors. Providing regular updates to external customers on the progress of faults. Providing support to the shift managers in the acceptance and roll out of new contracts into the NOC. Facilities monitoring and fault fix. Arranging and coordinating access for suppliers. Coaching new team members. Providing ad hoc reports as required to senior members of the team and wider organisation. Raising change requests in line with customer processes. What competencies are we looking for? Previous experience of working in a Network Operations Centre. Comfortable working 24/7 shift patterns including bank holidays and night work. Support experience in PDH, SDH, DWDM, RAN and Ethernet/IP technologies. Understanding of Network Management Systems and functions. Experienced in fault ticketing systems such as Salesforce, Field Service Lightning. Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to prioritise faults and workload. Outstanding confidence, initiative and organisational skills. The ability to adapt to a fast paced environment. Highly competent in all MS Office systems and IT platforms.
