Embedded Software Engineer

Embedded Software Engineer Photocentric Ltd is a rapidly growing manufacturing company based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and Phoenix, USA. Three times Queens Award winners one for export and twice for innovation, we have invented a patented new method of 3D printing. It is now starting to disrupt the way things are made, worldwide. We manufacture our own 3D printers and resins and export all over the world. We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to help steer and create our next-generation 3D printers. With you, we endeavour to make our printers more accurate, more interconnected and make our business more data-driven. You'll be working within a broad multidisciplinary team of electrical engineers, systems engineers, software engineers and all-round great folk to both design and build the systems in our machines. Responsibilities of our Embedded Software Engineer include: - Collaborating with an experienced team of mechanical engineers and a growing group of electrical and software engineers - Designing and implementing embedded software applications from ideation to release - Creating real-time logging systems from a mix of analogue and digital sensors - Delivering a new range of networkable devices What we're looking for in our Embedded Software Engineer: - Experience of creating and improving embedded systems - Mixed experience with IoT device deployments, Embedded DMA and Embedded RTOS are all highly valuable to the role - A competent C/C++ developer who is comfortable working within different IDE environments - A passion for 3D printing and rapid prototyping - Experience with Atmel (Microchip), ESP32 and STM32 microcontroller families - Comfortable writing test harnesses, unit testing, and debug low-level code (from microcontrollers to embedded Linux) - Someone who is happy to get hands-on in a collaborative environment - Someone who operates with a desire for quality and excellence, you are keen to ownership - Some experience low-level Linux e.g. writing device drivers would be an advantage - Experience working with high-value consumer electronics desirable - Some experience in electronics or robotics beneficial - Knowledge of another language such as Python would be beneficial - Experience with JIRA and pipelining would be welcomed - Experience with safety-critical code development would be beneficial, e.g. MISRA-C If you are looking for a high potential role with plenty of growth opportunities, click apply now to be considered as our Embedded Software Engineer, we'd love to hear from you
