Support Worker Children and Young People

We are looking for several experienced Support Workers with NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People or equivalent qualification. Our client is an independent care provider offering a range of services for young people with learning disabilities, autism and other complex conditions. We are urgently looking to recruit a Support Workers for a Good rated OFSTED registered children's home for young people located in Barking. You will play a key role in providing young people the opportunity to experience activities outside their normal environment, develop their social and life skills; which will empower them to make choices, build their confidence and promote independent living skills. You will be situated in their community activity centre, residential care home, or out in the local community for the job role. The services are 24/7 therefore any successful candidate MUST be able to work flexible shift patterns which includes working weekends, bank holidays and night shifts. Responsibilities of the Support Worker Ensure you are following the compliance with the clients policies and procedures whilst ensuring standards are met at all time Deliver quality day-to-day care to our service users. Ability to help develop social and life skills and independence skills Report any necessary records i.e. any accident or incident which may occur Be able to engage with children and young people for both verbal and non-verbal children. Be enthusiastic, caring, professional and respectful of staff and young people. Be creative and engaging during activities both indoor and outdoor Promote effective listening and communication skills. Assisting in the preparation and making of meals, drinks and snacks. Accurately write and complete all reporting records Be proactive and enthusiastic in making a difference in an individuals life. Qualifications & Requirements The client is regulated by Ofsted; all successful applicant will require the following: NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care in Children and Young People or equivalent qualification MUST be able to work flexible hours including Early, Late, Weekends, Bank Holidays and night shifts. Enhanced DBS disclosure required or willing to complete on if successful.
