Assistant Accountant

Experienced SME Assistant Accountant required to work for a growing local manufacturing business based on the outskirts of Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. This role has been created as part of their future growth plans, so for the successful candidate it presents an opportunity to join a very innovative business, gaining knowledge in the grass roots of the business by being very active in learning all the fundamental areas Initially you will be responsible for running all the day to day accounts for a number of group businesses, where responsibilities include: Purchase Ledger Sales Ledger Posting journals Nominal ledger Bank reconciliation Credit Control Petty cash Reconciling company credit cards Intracompany transactions Processing payroll Leading Monthly/Annual accounts preparation Adhoc reporting Become a Sage 200 superuser for the business Other duties as requied within the finance team Applications are welcomed from individuals with the following skills and experience: Ideally Part qualified ACCA/CIMA - and looking to study further Proven track record within a small business environment IT Literate - ideally with experience of Sage Line 50 or Sage 200 Highly organised and able to work unsupervised In return, the client are able to offer a stable working environment within a growing business, and for the right person the opportunity to step into the shoes of the Finance Manager in the future.
