Production Supervisor

Production Supervisor in a Modular Building Factory Our client is looking for a Production Supervisor to oversee the M&E workflow at our Peterborough factory.The role is varied and complex. In addition to supervising, training and coaching others, you will be the primary point of escalation on any related issues, which you will need to resolve in a timely and effective manner. You'll play an important role in keeping the lines of communication open between the Leadership Team and the factory floor and will work collaboratively with your colleagues across the organisation. You will be a competent individual who will become well-versed in safe, standard operating procedures and processes. Through close monitoring of activity, you will identify opportunities for continuous improvement and play a key role in driving productivity and quality. The role holder will have a significant opportunity to help shape our company culture and deliver sustainable growth through an engaged and capable team. Key Responsibilities :
• Set and communicate performance goals in line with the Company vision and values
• Execute/assist with Electrical and Mechanical install work as necessary
• Organise workflow of duties and tasks and ensure that employees know what is expected of them.
• Oversee M&E sub-contractors, monitoring performance in line with programme and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Systems of Work
• Monitor M&E employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching as necessary, ensuring production programmes are met.
• Be responsive to feedback and take positive action to resolve problems.
• Ensure clear lines of two-way communication between the factory floor and the leadership team.
• Actively participate in discussions about individual and team performance and development
• Actively participate in discussions with the Technical team regarding M&E designs and their review/development/improvement.
• Support in the recruitment and training of new M&E employees
• Ensure quality M&E works standards are maintained/improved and necessary records kept.
• Oversee the installation of all M&E works ensuring pre-completion testing and issue of necessary certificates. Role Requirements :
• Core electrical, plumbing and general maintenance ability with an aptitude for learning relevant skills
• Knowledge/Understanding of MVHR/MEV systems
• Knowledge of MEP systems for Domestic houses and apartments
• Knowledge of Building regulations and testing requirements for Housing and Apartment dwellings and compliance with all regulations for installing MEP equipment.
• Understanding of renewable housing technologies e.g. Solar thermal, PV, Heat pumps etc.
• Ability to read MEP Drawings and sign off the installation as the drawings.
• Ability to transfer learnings and experience across roles and/or industry sectors
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Competent at organisation of work and leading others
• Good report writing and communication skills
• A working knowledge of MS Office Essential Experience :
• Wo r king competently at a supervisory level within an M&E context
• Supervising and organising a team of internal and external resources to install MEP equipment, cabling and pipework.
• Well-practiced in complying with and upholding Company policies and Industry best practice
• A good working knowledge of Factory and Site based Health & Safety requirements
• Acting as a conduit between customers, technical, professional and manufacturing teams Desirable Experience:
• Previous experience of working in the Modular construction industry would be advantageous.
• Factory Experience.
• Previous on-site responsibility
