Chemical Engineer - aluminium honeycomb

Encocam engineering are recruiting an additional Chemical Engineer for our production site in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. At this factory we manufacture aluminium honeycomb for production in crash test barriers, composite panels, and several other products. You can see our barriers being used on the Euro NCAP website to give vehicles their safety rating. As the on-site Chemical Engineer, you will be managing chemical processes ensuring they are undertaken correctly and effectively; as well as providing production support and managing occasional projects. Much of the honeycomb goes through an etching process before being assembled into the barriers. Key tasks and responsibilities of the role are: To oversee the development of the Company's chemical processes. Be responsible of the weekly chemical analysis and determine any actions to be taken according to the results. Maintain an appropriate level of operational / production support through work instructions, hands on assistance, problem solving etc. Be aware of any new developments, new products and technologies integrating them into manufacturing environment and assessing the impact on Encocam to ensure that full competitive advantage is gained and maintained. Research, development, and testing including the preparation of samples for both customers and in-house testing. Ensuring relevant legislation is adhered to in the use, handling, storage and disposal of chemicals, plant, and technologies. Maintaining a satisfactory level of awareness of environmental legislation, H&S legislation, specifically COSHH and all other legal requirements. The preparation of technical documents / reports / presentations for both internal and external use. You will have experience as either a Process Engineer, or Production / Manufacturing Engineer with a qualification in Chemical Engineering. It is also desirable that you've done chemical analysis of treatment tank contents along with maintaining and managing lab/test equipment including calibration.
