Brewster Partners are working with a Nottingham based technology engineering and manufacturing group who are looking to recruit a Product Development Manager to be responsible for the engineering and development of new and existing product portfolios from strategy to commercialisation. The new product portfolio currently comprises of active and passive remote condition monitoring (RCM) technologies and forms a key component of the organisation's global technology strategy. The existing product set includes electronic visual display systems and we're looking for someone who ideally has experience of either or both of these technologies or similar technologies. THE JOB: Reporting into the the Managing Director, your prime role will be to deliver new products in line with the company's annual operating plan (AOP) and rolling 3-year strategic plans. You will own the product roadmaps and jointly develop the strategy and future of the company's technology product set. Your specific responsibilities will include: At strategic level you will be responsible delivering the company's global technology development plan At Business development level you will be integral in development of future product strategy, assist driving growth by securing orders for new & existing products and the continual evolution of product roadmap At operational level, your responsibilities will include: Execution of the product roadmap Management of the hardware and systems teams for the execution of the product development process Product Cost control Reviews & key stakeholder engagement Working with the Conformance Manager to ensure regulatory compliance, stakeholder sign off & release to manufacture Change control procedure Client Documentation and manuals Evaluate and review tenders/opportunities, contributing to scope, costing, return on investment and market potential THE PERSON: To be considered for this role, the business are looking for: At least a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline (2:1 or above) Technical competence in electrical & electronic applications Software development & implementation insights Good understanding of mechanical design engineering Experienced at introducing new products/processes in a technology-based environment Experienced in leading a technology-centric product development team with demonstrable success Able to lead cross-functional/cross-divisional teams on a project by project basis Capable of producing detailed reports covering completed and projected activities THE BENEFITS: This is an interesting and varied role and integral to the future plans of the business.
