SEND support

Contract: Part Time/ Flexible Summary and Main Purpose: Remit's goal is to deliver an excellent and innovative learning experience which supports and inspires every learner to aim high and achieve their ambitions. As we continue our journey in pursuit of excellence we are searching for a highly motivated and quality focused National SEND Co-ordinator. We are looking for a commitment to inclusive practice, extensive experience of SEND and a track record of raising standards for those with learning difficulties and disabilities. The successful candidate will have energy, embrace change and provide strong support that enables colleagues to provide high-quality learning experiences and outstanding achievement for SEND learners. As the National SEND Co-ordinator at Remit Group, you will contribute to the planning, co-ordination and implementation of Remit's strategy for SEND learners, support operational managers and delivery teams to improve the quality of provision, progress and outcomes for SEND learners. You will also be an ambassador for SEND for the organisation, represent the organisation both internally and externally and contribute to future bids and current project delivery as required. Key Accountabilities: To contribute to the development and effective communication of the Learning Support Policy and support the implementation and delivery of the Learning Support Strategy and Improvement Plan. To contribute to the development and implementation of robust and effective SEND screening models and proactively support successful delivery to SEND learners across the business. To support the design and development of innovative and contextualised SEND resources. To design and deliver SEND induction, training and development to Development Coaches so that they confidently make reasonable adjustments ensuring SEND learners are well supported to achieve and progress. To keep abreast of best practice relating to SEND, including pedagogical developments, and promote innovative delivery across the organisation. To advise operational teams on inclusive teaching practice. To provide effective support to a caseload of SEND learners. To evaluate the quality of SEND delivery and instigate support / interventions as appropriate. To identify good practice SEND delivery and facilitate the sharing of good practice. To effectively use a range of management information to monitor and report on the quality of SEND teaching and learning and outcomes for learners. To lead the collation and evaluation of evidence, which forms the basis for special exam arrangements, reasonable adjustments and special considerations applications. To assess learners' eligibility for special exam arrangements, reasonable adjustments and special considerations in line with JCQ requirements and regulations of relevant awarding organisations. To work closely with the Centre Manager to ensure special exam arrangements, reasonable adjustments and special considerations are implemented as required. To prepare and present monthly reports on the performance of SEND learners. To keep abreast of regulatory requirements, preparing thoroughly for inspections/EQA visits and contributing as appropriate during inspections or visits. To contribute to bid writing and project delivery as necessary. To support external partners in developing, implementing and embedding their own strategies to raise the standard teaching and learning and improve outcomes for SEND learners. To maintain a confidential approach to work within a management environment. Any other duties as directed by the Change & Progression Manager considered appropriate for this post. Qualifications: Essential Educated to degree level or equivalent. Full teaching qualification (PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed or equivalent) Specialist Teacher for Learners with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) qualification Postgraduate Award of Proficiency in for Access Arrangements (PAPAA) or equivalent Functional Skills Level 2 in English, maths and ICT Evidence of recent Continuous Professional Development Experience: Essential: Recent experience of inclusive teaching strategies and innovative support arrangements for SEND learners. Recent experience of evaluating exam access evidence and compiling successful exam access applications. Ability in producing accurate data and statistics relating to SEND monitoring and evaluation, with demonstrable experience of effectively using this and other information to improve the quality of teaching and learning and outcomes for SEND learners. Experience of writing concise, meaningful reports for internal and external audiences based on analytic data analysis Skills and Knowledge: Essential: In depth and up to date knowledge of SEND. The ability to contribute to the design and delivery of an organisational strategy for SEND learners. Proven ability in producing accurate data and statistics relating to SEND monitoring and evaluation, with demonstrable experience of effectively using this and other information to improve the quality of teaching and learning and outcomes for SEND learners. Proven track record of consistently meeting and exceeding targets and deadlines and capability to drive productivity and exceed targets. Practical knowledge of the Apprenticeship delivery model. Knowledge of Ofsted and ability to lead on SEND during an inspection. Ability to build positive relationships and to inspire and influence colleagues. Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen and challenge in a supportive manner. Ability to analyse situations and recommend ways forward. Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise and meet deadlines. Ability to make a confident positive personal impact. Have a flexible approach to working hours and locations. Full clean valid driving licence.
