Our Mining Consultant and Information Manager role: Do you want to be recognised as a leading specialist in interpreting complex mining information to help the public, developers and infrastructure owners understand the impacts of mining legacy? This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a high-performing, diverse team of people from a variety of backgrounds in academia, civil & mechanical engineering, contaminated land, mining, construction, geophysical exploration and GIS. Main responsibilities of our Mining Consultant and Information Manager: - Using a Geographical Information System (GIS) to interpret the digital mining information - Interpreting the mine abandonment plan and other historical plans & records to manage and maintain the accuracy of the digital mining information - Reviewing and assessing new mining information and update the digital GIS database - Providing effective customer service - Supporting the wider internal business as an expert mining consultant - Managing the information asset across the business - Ensuring the continuous improvement of systems and processes to aid the industrial strategy of the UK - Ensuring the business satisfies its statutory, legal and GDPR obligations - Acting as a point of contact for all information needs What we're looking for in our Mining Consultant and Information Manager : - Demonstrable experience of working with GIS/CAD, historical plans and information - preferably within a mining or engineering geology context - A qualification, or working towards a qualification, in an associated discipline or someone who is able to demonstrate suitable experience for the role - Experience of giving great customer service to engage with a wide range of stakeholders - both internal and external customers (member of the public, MPs, solicitors, conveyancer, consultants) - Knowledge of the historical mining legacy of Great Britain (or similar field), with a good working knowledge of MS Office suite of products - The ability to work closely with other teams to support their core activities - Agility and adaptability to change - to seek out continuous improvement in how we do things - The ability to engage and communicate effectively with project and non-project people at every level - Analytical with excellent reporting skills - A methodical and organised approach to task management, in particular, multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment - A desire to continue to learn and develop professionally If you believe you are the right candidate for the role as our Mining Consultant and Information Manager, then please click 'apply' now We'd love to hear from you.
