Team Leader, Buy to Let


Buy to Let Team Leader-supporting the manager in the day to day servicing of legacy and originated Buy to Let loans

Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities

  • Allocating work to the team
  • Ensure the Teams Service Levels are met
  • Ensure all standards in line with our client's expectations of quality, productivity and performance are achieved by the team
  • Planning and organising 1-2-1's for the team
  • Provide support for the team when they are undertaking analysis of customer information to understand what the best outcome is for their circumstances
  • Signing off team's referrals and providing support and guidance when they are not at the level expected
  • Signing off team's free format letters and providing support and guidance when they are not at the level expected
  • Supporting the manager with client interaction including being involved at client servicer meetings and being point of contact in Manager's absence
  • Overseeing complaints process seeking support from Compliance where necessary
  • Liaising with third parties, Solicitors, LPA receivers and Field Agents where necessary
  • Contribute to identification of improvement opportunities to enhance our service to our customers and clients
  • Understand property summary reports, desktop valuations and red book valuations and the implications they have upon outstanding debt of a borrower's loan(s) and how the values affect risk to LMSL and Client(s), and how a valuation can be used for term extensions
  • Understand the terms and conditions of a borrowers loan so that they may be clearly explained to the borrower's by the team
  • Support the team when they receive and attempt to resolve loan enquiries from borrowers and their advisors.
  • Assist with projects as defined by the Manager by meeting agreed deadlines and achieving specific objectives.
  • Ensure that enquiries for changes to borrower's accounts are dealt with by the team within mandated levels and in accordance with procedures. Report any breaches to the Line Manager
  • Ensure sign offs are within mandated levels

Experience & Personal Attributes

  • Excellent communicator at all levels- both verbal and written
  • Strong desire to support the team in achieving all targets
  • Ability to work as an effective team leader - be co-operative, support others and deliver what you promise
  • Strong understanding of mortgage loan documentation
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office packages
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines, be adaptable and flexible within the role
  • A desire to learn and take on new systems and concepts quickly as well as critically evaluating where appropriate
  • Reasoning and Mathematical skills - in order to calculate affordability and assess circumstances
  • Attention to Detail - Recording of information must be accurate, factual and professional
  • Minimum of Grade C in GCSE Mathematics and English, or equivalent
  • Understanding of the Buy to let market and what constitutes a Buy to let loan
  • Understanding of LPA Receivers and their role in the enforcement process
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to make independent decisions
