Details of our businesses and our outstanding achievements so far can be found on our websites:- About the Role: Reporting directly into the CTO, the Cloud Engineering Director is responsible for orchestrating the development, and implementation of Nasstar's Cloud Compute platform. The successful candidate will lead the Cloud Engineering team to develop, deliver and maintain Nasstars Cloud products. This is a technical and strategic leadership role that contributes to define products, processes, standards, and operational plans based upon the business strategy. Main Responsibilities: The successful candidate will work closely with Sales in customer engagements taking on the role of evangelist of Nasstar's Cloud portfolio and spearheading research & development activities. Other duties will include but not limited to:- Full technical operations authority for all hosting/cloud platform & services including adherence to architectural principles and service targets. Responsible for ensuring the commercial awareness throughout the department and ensure all technical decisions are reviewed to meet the commercial need. Oversee and police licensing within all hosted platforms, ensuring declarations to vendors are accurate and correct. This includes being responsible for all audits required by vendors. Ensure commercial governance, accountability & reporting is in place. Production and design of high-level plans such as but not limited to: Service offerings, roadmap, and designs Oversee the team's proactivity in managing, maintaining and developing the Cloud platforms and services to ensure service continuity and efficiency. Oversee maintenance contracts and renewals Work with the Cloud Services Architect Manager to manage Security / Business risks within the marketplace and provide solutions to these. Physical and Virtual platform Lifecycle Management to ensure our hosting/cloud platforms & services remain operational, efficient and are aligned to product requirements. Escalation point for Cloud services related issues or queries Oversee the Service Delivery management of the Cloud Service Department Produce Costing model, Technical documentation and commercials for all Cloud products. Oversee the Cloud Service Technical management's running of the day-to-day engineering operation. Working with the CTO to define a strategy for the Cloud Services department and systems. Manage the implementation of agreed Cloud strategy Adherence to all relevant legal, regulatory & ISO-based Policies, SOPs, Codes of Conduct, Handbooks, and Process Workflows What we'd like from you: Ability to provide leadership, guidance, and management of technical teams Excellent all-round IT Infrastructure and Operations knowledge Excellent all-round understanding of multiple technologies and the elements of an End to End service Senior-level IT Management and leadership experience within a Data Centre environment Extensive Licensing model knowledge (SPLA/VSPP) Expert Knowledge of virtualization including VMware / vCloud Knowledge of core networking protocols and technologies such as VLANs, BGP, DNS etc Knowledge of firewall and security suits Knowledge of Microsoft server products and platforms Knowledge of alerting and monitoring platforms and products Knowledge of different hardware vendors Knowledge of storage, such as EMC SANs Extensive knowledge of Cloud technologies Extensive Certification Body knowledge (ISO 27001 / 9001 / PCI) Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
