The post of Head Teacher - Care Experienced Children and Young People will take the lead role in a 'virtual school'. They will be a local authority champion to instigate and realise improvements in educational attainment and achievement at a strategic and operational level. The post holder will develop processes to improve the means of capturing and analysing educational data and put in place strategies to use this data to inform innovative and effective interventions. The post holder will also be an integral member of the East Lothian Corporate Parenting Board which oversees the planning and implementation of the East Lothian Corporate Parenting Plan. The successful candidate will be an experienced leader with a sound understanding of the vision and ambition that is required to ensure that all children and young people with care experienced realise their full potential. They will be an excellent communicator and possess the skills to work collaboratively to develop and implement effective strategy. Most importantly, they will be an experienced practitioner with a passion and track record for working with children and young people and improving outcomes for all. Job Details The role of the Head Teacher is, within the resources available, to conduct the affairs of both Schools to the benefit of the pupils and the communities they serve, through pursuing objectives and implementing policies set by East Lothian Council under the overall direction of the Executive Director, Education and Children's Services. Job Requirements Relevant Qualifications Full GTCS Registration is required. In these circumstances, a calculation will be carried out upon commencement of employment and leave and pay will be adjusted.
