Social Media Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Media Manager to join our team based in London. This role will be primarily home-based with some work at our Gilwell Park office. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, we will offer you a competitive salary of £33, 594 per annum. The Scouts are embarking on transforming their Volunteer Journey to make volunteering with us even more attractive, accessible, flexible, and enjoyable. For our 160,000 volunteers, a crucial part of their volunteer experience is the training we offer to ensure they feel confident and are equipped to undertake their role. We want to develop a learning culture where training is simple but effective and delivers the skills and knowledge that our volunteers need when they need it, whether they work directly with our young people delivering skills for life or carry out a supporter, manager or governance role. There is a wide range of learning needs to be met and we want to enable our volunteers to manage their own learning journey and access their training in a modern and flexible way that enables them to fit it into their lives alongside their volunteering and other commitments. The Social Media Manager Role: You will drive, deliver and evaluate audience-led content that builds the Scouts brand-level social media audiences to support the Skills for Life strategy. This role ensures we influence and listen to our communities through organic and paid social, supporting the strategic goals of making Scouts more youth-shaped and inclusive, growing our membership and positively impacting communities. What will you be doing in the Social Media Manager role? - Leading the development, delivery and evaluation of social media as part of integrated communications, to support the Skills for Life strategy - Working collaboratively to coordinate the content plan across Communications, Operations and Commercial Directorates and integrating social media in communications and marketing plans - Generating creative, share-worthy content that develops the Scout brand and reflects our values, connecting with partners and ambassadors - Maintaining a solid understanding of the changing needs of our social audiences and the channels they use - Leading on paid social optimisation and reporting, analysing ongoing results to identify trends and insights - Sharing insight to the wider team to reflect goals, and sharing learnings on how this will link to SEO - Managing dialogue with Scouts social media communities by responding to and driving conversations - Playing an active role in preparing for, and responding to, issues affecting brand perception and reputation - Contributing digital audience insight as a member of the Communications Leadership team - Providing thought leadership on how to engage and influence audiences on social, supporting our people to leverage social media to share stories, recruit volunteers and fundraise with best practice advice, training, and tools - Continually surveying the social media landscape to identify and analyse trends, new measurement tools and opportunities to grow, to connect or convert target audiences What we are looking for in our Social Media Manager: - Experience creating, delivering and evaluating multi-channel content strategies for a large organisation - Demonstrable experience of growing and maintaining social media communities, including reputation management - Proven success in budget management, planning and activating paid social campaigns, working to conversion specific KPIs - Demonstrable experience of communicating complex or technical information in a clear, concise and relevant way - Knowledge of third sector or membership organisations and the communication issues they may encounter What we can offer you as our Social Media Manager: - 25 days holiday and going up to 28 days after 2 years' service and 32 days after 5 years' service - Additional holidays between Christmas & New Year - Life Assurance - Simply Health Scheme - Generous Pension Scheme - Free car parking Closing date: Sunday 13th June 2021, 22:59 Don't miss out on the opportunity to join our fantastic team Click 'Apply' now The Scouts is an equal opportunity employer and we are committed to diversity and actively seeking applicants from a wide range of backgrounds.
