Volunteering Matters is looking for a values-based and proactive Suffolk-based Project Manager to join our Eastern regional team. Purpose of the role The purpose of this role is to manage mentoring projects and community-based projects within the East Team, as well as the staff team for the programme. Grandmentors A project dedicated to care leavers where care experienced young people are matched to a mentor aged 50. The mentoring match is led by the young person's needs and aspirations and facilitated by the volunteer who has been trained by Volunteering Matters and obtains relevant life experience that can help support, advocate, and empower the young person into safer pathways and more opportunities. Equip Supports and empowers young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training to find opportunities by matching them to a volunteer mentor. The mentor works with the young person by preparing, obtaining and sustaining education, employment or training with them. Safe Journeys A short-term community safety and engagement project that is embedding community and covid-19 safety within Ipswich. The project will also capture stories, experiences and testimonies of different people and groups throughout the pandemic. The post holder will be accountable to the East of England Delivery Leader. Key Duties: Young People: Engage young people from different backgrounds to empower them into safer pathways, including youth social action Manager and maintain a consistent amount of referrals of young people for the Mentoring programme Volunteers: Recruit, train and empower volunteers on the mentoring projects and manage a network of mentors Review and respond to volunteers needs on their volunteer journey Team: Manage a small team and ensure each team member is supported and empowered within their role Maintain good working relationships with the wider team and organisation External Relationships: Manage and maintain external relationships such as key funders, stakeholders and other community members Seek and support different groups and communities to be a part of the mentoring programme Impact and Reporting: Measure and capture impact relevant to the young people, volunteers and community Create clear, consistent and creative reporting.
