About the home
Norwood is situated within a quiet suburban area on Park Road in Ipswich. The Norwood Charitable Trust, established by MHA supporters Thomas England and his wife, made a large single gift to MHA in the form of a grant of &163;200,000. This was used to add a new, purpose-built wing to the original building. For this reason, when the home was opened in 1979, it took on the new name, Norwood.
