South Norfolk and Broadland Council have an exciting opportunity for you to joins us as a Trainee Surveyor based at Long Stratton, close to Norwich, NR15 2XE or Wisbech, close to Kings Lynn, PE13 3BH . You will join us on a full-time basis working 37 hours on a 2 year Fixed Term Contract. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £22,571 - £26,492 per annum. Two Council's One Team Broadland and South Norfolk Councils are in a partnership with staff working together for both Councils. As a Trainee Surveyor , you will gain experience and training in building control surveying, plan checking, and all elements of building control. You will be supported and mentored by an experienced building control team. This will give you the opportunity to work onsite, in the office, and remotely as your experience and abilities grow. Responsibilities of our Trainee Surveyor: - Administering and enforcing building regulations and associated legislation under the direction of the management team - Undertaking plan checking duties to increase knowledge of construction details and the practical application of building regulations - Attending and assisting with site inspections including dangerous structures to develop knowledge and experience in this field of work - Keeping up to date with regulatory and legislative changes, new products, and construction techniques relevant to the UK - Undertaking training to gain competency in all elements of a surveyor's role - Delivering excellent customer care and providing a quality service promoting the services of CNC to existing and potential customers - Liaising with internal and external departments and organisations - Positively participating in the development and delivery of corporate change programmes and initiatives What we're looking for in our Trainee Surveyor: 5 years experience in a relevant construction-related discipline or a level 6 qualification on the national qualifications framework (NQF) in a relevant construction-related discipline.
