Hockey Professional

The Stamford Endowed Schools is looking to appoint a

Hockey Professional from September 2021.
Hockey is one of the main sports at all three of our schools together with rugby and netball and cricket/tennis in the summer.

The girls compete in the Autumn term and the boys programme is
predominantly in the spring with pre-season in the Autumn.

Coaching continues throughout the whole academic year. The schools aim to allow all students to represent the school so teams can
be fielded from “G” to First XI. There is a very strong fixture list with block fixtures against local and more distant schools.
As a SES Hockey Professional, you will be required to coach predominantly across all three schools (SS, SHS & SS).
During these games sessions, where possible, the members of staff
who will be taking the team will also be present to support the coaching.

This organisation also makes better use of the schools’ two artificial floodlit pitches. In addition to the games sessions, team train after school.
The Stamford Schools have begun a 6.5 million sports project which includes floodlit double hockey Astros, sports pavilion with three indoor training spaces, changing for 100 students, office and entertainments areas. This will ensure the schools then have three Astros to support the
growth in the hockey program.
The school recently opened a new Sports Centre which has a modern fitness suite as well as a 25m pool.  There are two sports halls, one of which is equipped for indoor hockey which is coached throughout the Autumn Term.
A great opportunity exists for the right candidate to contribute to the development pathway and a culture within hockey that supports continuity, participation and excellence within the sport.
