Nursery Chef

St Ives Nursery is looking for a Nursery Chef to join our friendly and happy team. We'd love to hear from you if you are a team player, enthusiastic about planning and providing healthy and nutritious food for children and you have the following skills/knowledge:
• Experience of working in a kitchen
• A food safety qualification
• High levels of organisation and communication skills
• Experience of managing allergies and intolerances A relevant catering qualification and experience of managing budgets is desirable but not essential. This is a wide and varied role but as an overview you will:
• To provide a nutritious and well-balanced diet for the children.
• To ensure children's dietary needs, particularly serious allergies, are met.
• To contribute to the menu development, adhering to the 'home cooked' food ethos.
• To manage the weekly food ordering and stock rotation/control.
• To maintain high standards of hygiene.
• To adhere to food hygiene policies, standard operating processes and legislation. • Previous experience in a similar role
• A team player
• A positive attitude
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic health and safety and food safety
• Willingness to undertake further training as required
• Ability to undertake all physical aspects of the position Desirable Skills/Qualifications:
• Previous experience of working in a childcare setting
• Knowledge of safeguarding and first aid.
