Senior Scrum Master

The Scrum Master will act as the servant-leader for our Agile teams, helping to educate the teams on ways of working and ensuring that all agreed Agile processes are correctly followed. Responsibility for ensuring the team are empowered to tackle impediments and blockages as quickly as possible is a key facet of the role. The Scrum Master should have a relentless focus on continually improving the performance of the Agile team and the environment they operating in, whilst ensuring appropriate governance standards are adhered to. The Scrum Master will spend much of their time helping other team members communicate, coordinate and cooperate. Where organisational barriers are found, the Scrum Master should constructively challenge these and work with the wider Agilist community to ensure we are solving system-wide problems and not just local ones. The Scrum Master should be an agent of change - a positive disruptor who pursues collective delivery excellence. Key responsibilities Support members of the development team to embrace Agile core values and principles. Impediment and blockage removal Responsibility for ensuring the team are empowered to tackle impediments and blockages as quickly as possible is a key facet of the role Facilitating team ceremonies Ensuring all team ceremonies run efficiently and effectively. This doesn't mean you are the Scrum Police - you should encourage the team to tailor approaches to ensure it allows for the maximum focus on customer value, efficiency of flow through the team and delivering high quality, secure outputs Reporting on behalf of the team Collecting and broadcasting all appropriate metrics and reports such as Burndown and Velocity for each team - and making sure the data is understood by those receiving it. Ensuring timely reporting of risks and progress to with full transparency, where appropriate Collaborating with other teams Working closely with other Scrum Masters, Project Managers, Programme Managers and Release Train Engineers to ensure continous learning and improvement is at the heart of all we do Core Key Responsibilities Leadership / Management: Understand and participate in Performance for Growth ensuring stretching personal objectives, a personal development plan and regular self and team feedback Comply with the Training and Competency requirements and complete required training in a timely manner Customer: Actively contribute to a culture that achieves the business goals, delights customers and keeps consumer advocacy at the heart of everything we do Ensure that good client / consumer outcomes are at the centre of all operational activity and decision making Deliver great clients and consumers service and seek to exceed client / consumer expectations Governance & Control: Adhere to all regulatory requirements within role responsibility and escalate issues quickly Pro-actively identify risks and make recommendation to mitigate these Understand and adhere to specific regulatory obligations and company policies and procedures Role Requirements Scrum Master certification (SSM, CSM, PSM) Working with globally distributed teams .
