If the answer is yes, this Technical Officer role could be for you An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our fast paced Planning team as a Technical Officer .You will join us on a full time, permanent basisand in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £21,000 - £22,014 per annum. You will be involved in a wide range of work streams including registration of consultations, handling customers enquires, assisting with planning consultations and assisting with the pre-application advice service we operate. Our Technical Officer will be an invaluable member of the team and will assist in ensuring that we operate an efficient and effective service. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and a unique insight into the planning process and the role of the statutory consultee. What we're looking for in our Technical Officer : You will have a good level of English and Maths, ideally with experience of working in a technical or administrative role in an LPA Planning department. You will be good with IT including with GIS mapping, be able to read plans and be confident dealing with customers, both verbally and in writing. You will have a flexible approach to work, be clear thinking and thorough with good organisational skills and the ability to work accurately and methodically to maintain our high standards. The Coal Authority's Planning deals with a fast-paced workload of around 9,000 consultation requests per year, and provide advice to 181 local planning authorities across England, Scotland and Wales. We provide essential assistance and inputs into Development Management and Development Plan processes, but we're also involved in influencing national planning policies, providing pre-application advice to the development industry and in supporting the Coal Authority's own development projects. The Planning team plays an essential role in helping to deliver the Coal Authority's wider objectives. We're a small friendly team with a diverse range of planning backgrounds.
