Children's Residential Support Worker

The working day can be very unpredictable and you could find yourself spending the entire morning organising activities and the afternoon providing 1:1 support. No two days are the same. The right type of person needs to be flexible, adaptable and to be able to read situations and help our young people make positive choices. We are recruiting for Children Support Workers for one of our residential homes within Braintree and surrounding areas in Essex: -
• Working on a rota basis- 0800-2300 and sleep ins- this will depend on the size of the home but we understand certain commitments and will be pleased to talk about flexible working (average 172 hours a month)
• Reporting to the Team leader and Home Manager.
• Making sure there is a comprehensive handover for the staff on the following shift.
• Meeting the needs of the Children and Young People
• Organising and facilitating Social Activities (out of school
• Maintaining the home (laundry, cleaning shopping etc.) Qualifications/Experience/Requirements
• Living within travelling distance to our homes in these areas- Braintree, Essex and surrounding areas.
• You must over 21 years old and have a full UK driving licence.
• We are looking for people who have life skills, having experience with children or health and social care would benefit but this NOT essential for us at Cambian.
• Ofsted knowledge would be needed as well as general safe guarding and compliance experience.

• £9.33ph to £9.95ph -40 hours a week
• £30 per sleep - number of sleep-ins depends on the number of residents in the home.

• After a successful probation you will be enrolled onto an NVQ for the Children and Young people's workforce to be able to progress your career at Cambian.
