Reporting to the Finance Director, your principal role is to support the contractual and legal needs of Microlise. You will ensure a 100% customer-focused service is delivered at all times and mitigate or eliminate contractual risk to Microlise wherever possible. You will streamline an efficient, standard-repeatable process and ensure this is continually developed and integrated into the group, whilst providing specialist advice and guidance relating to contract law within a commercial environment. Then this could be for you What you will be doing day to day To provide a suitable in-house suite of contract templates that adequately protect the interests of Microlise To develop and integrate a scalable process for the contracts function, including a contract management policy To provide sound commercial advice and recommendations for a variety of contracts across departments To implement a Contract Management System that will enhance efficiency and visibility of contracts pending and executed To identify and manage memberships to necessary resources such as SimplyDocs and IACCM membership To provide ad hoc, on-demand support for Microlise personnel when required regarding contractual queries and support To negotiate client/supplier contracts to reflect a balanced, Microlise-friendly agreement wherever possible Ensure wherever possible that all contract-related conflicts/disputes are resolved in a timely manner Effectively manage contracts throughout the contract life-cycle Proactively manage all expiring contracts with relevant account owners Promptly notify relevant personnel of any key issues Implement a contract risk matrix and analysis Provide handover support to Delivery, ensuring key terms are highlighted in the process To manage the renewal of Microlise Trademarks and/or Patents Continuously assess and monitor the contract functions performance, identifying weaknesses and putting in place appropriate measures to overcome any downfalls To provide training/guidance on legal issues that may impact the business To create and present contract-related presentations to the board/operational board when required To implement realistic and measurable key performance indicators to allow for contract-optimisation To demonstrate self-awareness regarding personal and technical training needs What we're looking for Educated to degree-level, preferably in Law or an applicable commercial discipline Demontrable experience in a similar role with an in-depth understanding of Commercial Contract Law Proactively stay abreast with new legislation and legal developments in the UK and overseas Relevant work experience gained in a commercial office as a Contracts Manager/Specialist Experience with a variety of contract-types, including but not limited to, Master, License, Supplier, Service-Level and NDA contract-types Experience of working with software/technology Agreements Sound understanding of Data Protection Laws and principles Experience in Contract Management, balancing changing priorities and meeting deadlines User of CRM databases Excellent communication skills, with the ability to confidently communicate at all levels, to multiple stakeholders Client focused approach, utilising knowledge and experience, demonstrating outstanding levels of diplomacy and tact A flexible attitude and able to thrive in a high-pressure environment Willingness to work in a matrix environment and values the importance of teamwork Able to problem solve effectively and generate innovative ideas, in turn translating them into practical solutions It would be advantageous if you had Knowledge and demonstrable experience supporting with corporate secretarial duties Familiarity and understanding of international commercial law particularly France, Australia and New Zealand Why Microlise?
