UK&I Data Office - Senior Data Manager Do you have a passion for driving data improvements and are looking for an opportunity to deliver tangible business value in a FTSE50 data company? We are currently recruiting for a Data Manager to develop and execute internal data improvements. This high-profile role will work collaboratively across our business, to deliver operational improvements through improved accuracy of data, and ultimately delighting our customers with a data driven service experience. For the successful candidate, this provides a data focused, high visibility opportunity to deliver real value from within one of the world's leading data companies. This will be achieved through the introduction and ongoing management of a data governance framework to agree data definitions, manage, integrate, and align enterprise data across the business. This will enable us to build a consistent and complete view of our Customer's interactions, products and services and support strategic objectives to improve service, delight our customers and enable technology transformation. The Role The role will operate in the Data Architecture, Standards and Controls Team, reporting into the Lead Data Manager for internal data. The role is essential to execute against the overall plan of internal date improvements and to coordinate the engagement of critical stakeholders, maintain enterprise data models, data lineage maps, supporting processes and tooling and data quality reporting. This is essential to provide oversight of the use of our data, connect processes and systems and assure the controls and monitoring applied to meet business data quality, legislative requirements, and drive stakeholder accountability. Lead data improvements activity and coordinate the ongoing operational monitoring of data quality. Be accountable for the lifecycle and quality of a specific domain data asset e.g. Customer and Product Lead Data SMEs and Data Custodians to develop and publish data quality standards, definitions, processes, and business rules Ensure that standards and definitions of data (in all its forms) are adhered to; govern the data glossary Coordinate the work of the Data Forum and facilitate the communication of data standards to all stakeholders in the organisation Support the development of sound business cases to drive continuous improvement of the enterprise data assets; celebrate and publicise the delivery of these business benefits Define data structures and enterprise data models and data lineage maps to support the needs of the business Provide specialist advice for projects that impact the specific data domain Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures and overall data management strategy Could this role be for you? We're looking for someone who has a genuine interest in data and who has a passion to drive and shape business change within a large organisation. You'll have good knowledge of data modelling practices, data quality analysis and control management and monitoring, and the ability to explain and champion data management best practice. You'll succeed in this role by demonstrating excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to work to your own initiative and challenge peers and stakeholders. It is critical you understand and can guide the strategic direction of the organisation, making connections with regard to the long-term impact on data assets. It's important that you can work as part of a team and effectively bring your ideas to the table Experience: Strong background in data modelling, databases, and information management, understanding the importance of recognised data definition, data standards and their applicability within the organisation. Possesses an up to date knowledge of policy frameworks and business process management Knowledge of data management best-practice, including data quality, business intelligence and master data management Has experience of making sound and far reaching decisions on major issues and take responsibility for them, whether in a technical, managerial, advisory or specialist role Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels; can listen and influence Has the drive and passion to inspire a team to achieve a common goal Has experience of making sound and far reaching decisions on major issues and take responsibility for them, whether in a technical, managerial, advisory or specialist role Familiarity with relevant national and international legislation pertaining to Data - e.g. Data Protection legislation and Information Assurance Familiarity with TOGAF or similar architectural frameworks Why choose us?
