Chemistry Technician

We are looking for a Chemistry Technician to join our Laboratories team, where you will be part of a leading international FMCG organisation manufacturing cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. We are offering a salary of £18,000 - £25,000 along with a generous benefits package including 25 days holiday plus Bank holidays. BCM Laboratories are a centre of excellence for chemical and microbiological testing of pharmaceutical and beauty products. Offering excellent customer service and technical support to our customers and building long lasting partnerships. We are a large laboratory that covers a range of different chemical and microbiological testing, including method development and validation, stability, starting materials, release and import testing. We carry out testing to support our internal factory customers as well as external contracts. Due to the variety of testing within the laboratory we are looking for someone who is flexible and happy to work across different areas of the laboratory as workload and priorities change. Full training is provided for all relevant tasks. The Chemistry Technician role is Monday to Friday with flexible office working hours. We have 2 x Permanent Positions and 1 x 12 Month FTC available. As the Chemistry Technician you will be responsible for: Supporting the delivery of an efficient and compliant testing service by following the appropriate technical and regulatory procedures. Working under minimal supervision and meeting agreed deadlines. Proactively communicating any problems and delays to projects and escalate through appropriate routes. Building a positive relationship within the department. Ensuring all testing complies to cGMP for pharmaceuticals or cosmetics as appropriate. Supporting a positive culture of safety to ensure the laboratory meets all health and safety requirements. Helping to identify areas of improvement for the laboratory and support implementation of continuous improvement. To be successful in the Chemistry Technician role you will have: A Degree or equivalent certification preferable, however a sound knowledge of the area (A level or equivalent) with experience working in a GMP testing laboratory or similar. Experience in HPLC and/or GC. Experience with FTIR and TOC is also highly desirable as is experience of testing starting materials to the Ph.Eur and USP Experience working in a GMP laboratory environment. Proven skills demonstrating attention to detail and managing deadlines.
