European Freight Operator

We are currently seeking a European Operator to source freight solutions within our busy operational department to continue the company's growth plans. The purpose of the role is the provide the best solution and most commercially viable method of transporting freight, full loads, and part loads around Europe. You will build and develop relationships with suppliers to engender loyalty ensuring the Company remains competitive within the marketplace on both price and service. About the role To provide advice to Account Managers on the best solution and the most commercially viable method of transport. To request and gather quotations from suppliers in a timely manner. To manage the tracking of all consignments, ensuring communication is maintained throughout all phases of the journey and to investigate and resolve any non-delivered shipments. To prepare and process documentation for international European shipments accurately and in a timely manner. To ensure our UK partners, suppliers and custom brokers have the correct documentation for road freight shipments to enter and exit European borders. To work closely with customers, colleagues and third parties to ensure the operation runs smoothly to achieve deadlines. To succeed You will have excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to work under pressure. You will be expected to use your own initiative, be customer focused and a strong team player. You will be working within a similar role with experience of negotiating with sub-contractors to source European freight solutions. Is this role for you? Do you have experience of working in a similar role or within a freight forwarding environment? Do you have experience of negotiating with sub-contractors to source European or Domestic freight solutions? Can you work independently and are able to manage and prioritise a busy work schedule? Do you have a great telephone manner and are confident speaking to suppliers over the phone? Do you have working knowledge of Microsoft programs, in particular Outlook and Excel?
