This challenging and exciting opportunity (working from home) requires an individual with a technical background and proven experience in taking the lead of programming, scheduling, planning and sequencing the required resources for multiple sites, projects, contracts and schemes within any area of the construction, civil engineering, rail, utilities or infrastructure sectors. Due to an increase in contract awards, a significant forward order workload, and a dedication to continued profitable, ambitious and long-term growth across the UK, our client is now seeking to appoint a Works, Planning & Resource Manager. The role will provide total planning, programming and scheduling support to the Operations Director, and will lead the sequencing, organisation, allocation, movement and management of all resources, labour, plant, equipment, rigs and vehicles UK wide, so as to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of all projects and contracts. The Role
• Efficient and timely management and planning and programming of c25 crews of Operatives
• Ensure that all plant, materials, rigs and equipment are fit for purpose, and allocated to the crews on site in the correct sequence order of events to achieve optimum efficiency in project delivery, and to reduce downtime, delays and risk
• Maintain and update the operational tracker, allowing for change or slippage
• Ensure that all works are programmed in order to achieve completion on time and budget
• Ensure that the necessary resources are available to deliver the required performance, and monitor performance standards to implement improvements if required
• Ensure that all health, safety, environmental and quality procedures are maintained
• Produce and maintain an operational training matrix
• Effectively liaise and manage operational interfaces
• Producing labour and plant returns, whilst simultaneously organising all logistics for each site
• Liaise with clients, contractors and the appropriate authorities (if required) to ensure projects can be mobilised and executed as per the programme The Person
• A demonstrable track record of resource planning, programming, scheduling, utilisation and control within any area of the construction, civil engineering, rail, utilities or infrastructure sectors
• Strong coaching, communication and interpersonal skills, both with internal teams and external clients or stakeholders
• A good understanding of site and construction operational activities and trades-based skills
• Financial awareness and ability to work to budgets
• Understanding of resource scheduling to include effective prioritising in an ever-changing environment
• Previous experience of a similar role in a construction, site or project-based environment
• Excellent time management, organisational and communication abilities
