Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Tooling Engineer to join our highly motivated team. As a key member of the Tooling & Moulding teams you will have overall engineering and project management responsibility for activities associated with the procurement and installation of new mould tools ensuring delivery within the agreed budget and timelines as well as having accountability for:
• Providing commercially competitive tooling solutions, estimates/quotations required to underpin opportunity evaluation targeting new business or ongoing operations/capacity expansion.
• Derive tooling and moulding requirements/specifications in order to procure and support validation activities in line with business and compliance needs.
• Generate detailed tooling reports considering risk assessment, DFM and tool design options using experience, knowledge and analysis tools such as Moldflow.
• Provide continuous improvement solutions for the design, manufacture and new tooling throughout the product life cycle.
• Assist with emerging technology that can meet operational and business requirements to give potential competitive advantages for moulded parts.
• Ensure tool drawings are available and maintained in a controlled format. To be successful in this role we're looking for you to have the following skills, experience and knowledge:
• Apprentice trained and HNC qualified in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in reading, generating and modifying 2D & 3D mould designs using CAD systems.
• Project management, procurement and validation experience of new tools.
