Shift Manager

Shift Manager An exciting position has become available for a full-time Shift Manager based in Nottingham. The successful candidate will earn £32,500 - £37,500 dependent on experience. Hours of Work Rotating morning and afternoon shifts. 5am to 2pm with a 30 minute lunch. 1pm to 10pm with a 30 minute lunch. Weekend mornings may be required through the peak summer period June - September and holidays are limited during this time. Role Requirements Health and Safety awareness, NEBOSH or IOSH trained. Ability to perform risk assessments and safety audits with area of responsibility. Attention to detail. Understanding of quality and management information systems. Ability to effectively interpret and apply company/departmental policy and strategies. Ability to write SOPs, Quality Process, Pre Start Check sheets etc. Stock control process/procedures. Be comfortable working in a fast-paced pressurised working environment. Communicate through staff meetings, written announcements, and one-on-ones. HR knowledge of appraisals, consultations and disciplinaries. Sound computer literacy - especially excel. Role Responsibilities (not limited to) Meet the company's health and safety requirements as specified in the Health & Safety policy. Provide effective communication of performance feedback and instruction to enable a clear understanding of individual and team goals. Direct the team leaders to establish safe methods of work and maintain a high standard of housekeeping. Challenge individual and team performance to advance both to their optimum levels. Identify needs and develop team skills to the required levels of multi-skilling and delegating the skills to meet the budgeted requirements of the business. Encourage and support individuals to participate and contribute to the continuous development of the department. Achieve operational responsiveness through the expediting of orders using tools such as the outstanding list to attain company on time in full (OTIF) objectives. Serve as an interface between departments within the organisation to exchange information in the interest of advancing company performance e.g. engineering/product development/supply/quality control. Manage direct reports, by communicating direction, increasing motivation levels and carrying out recruitment, induction, training and development as required. To ensure all Risk Assessments in the area are up to date. To ensure appropriate PPMs, both internal and external, are carried out on all machinery/tools within their area. To lead by example and demonstrate a right first time approach at all times. Ensure all products are produced to the highest quality and consistency. Ensure standards of hygiene and housekeeping are strictly maintained and conduct daily GMP audits demonstrating improvement. Company Our client is a Nottingham based business with over 25 years' experience in manufacturing good quality furniture for the education, healthcare and corporate sectors.
