Engagement & Recovery Worker Criminal Justice Outreach

We are currently recruiting for a Engagement and Recovery Outreach Worker you must have demonstrable experience of working with substance misuse users or a comparable client group.This role is for 6 months with a possibility of extension. Job purpose / Context: To provide a high-quality service to offenders who have a history of substance misuse Targeted work with individuals with complex needs. Improving awareness and direct access for substance misuses. Work with local services to develop and maintain referral pathways. Develop strategies to help re-engage service users whom have dropped out of treatment. Actively engage service users into services in a range of settings. Where appropriate to work in close partnership with other agencies to ensure clients access a full range of services, Engagement and Assessment To work directly with offenders, clients and potential clients delivering motivation interviewing intervention to support clients in accessing services. To engage with offenders who either test positive for Class A substances, request to speak with a Substance Misuse Worker or have been arrested for a drug / alcohol related crime. Undertake assessments, provide harm reduction advice and referrals. To support and work in the wider Outreach Team as required which may include working within a hospital setting engaging clients into treatment, as well as completing home visits. Demonstrate good customer care skills providing, warm welcoming services to all service users, their families, carers and referrers. Have an excellent understanding of referral and allocation process and be part of the administration process by ensuring all referrals are processed efficiently. Ensure Inspire provide outreach to promote the service and conduct service user welfare checks and assessments, to a variety of locations, such as service user's home address, hostels and other services when appropriate. Interventions and Recovery Work Provide brief interventions including solution focused therapy, motivational enhancement and relapse prevention sessions on a one to one basis/ through groups or care coordination.Develop value based Recovery Plans with service users Deliver approved workshops and group work packages including accredited group work packages Prepare and support service users for and during group work. Liaise with all Sutton partner agencies/ services to advertise and promote Inspire. Promote the collaborative approach to delivering the service with service users, encouraging active service user involvement and integration into the community. Support service users to make links with recovery and wider community. Attend meetings as required and ensure effective liaison with other service providers. To register with Tradewind you will need a minimum of 2 years' experience working within Health and Social Care and be able to supply up to 5 years referencing.
