Material Planner

Our supply chain function in Royston is growing and we have this new position within our planning team. You will be responsible for undertaking a range of planning and purchasing activities, thus strongly collaborating with our production and buying teams. You will support new product introductions |NPI's|, outsourcing of manufactured assemblies and material flow to development projects. You will be based at our site in Royston |near Cambridge|. What you will accomplish together with us: Production planning for assemblies in NPI phase and preparing associated documentation and SAP settings Creating manufacturing plans to meet demand from customer orders, internal demands or safety stock Creating and monitoring manufacturing production orders Proactive expediting of shortages and providing assistance in solving material supply issues Liaising with procurement engineer to transfer purchasing responsibilities for NPI materials, taking on the buying responsibilities whilst in the early stages of manufacturing, and handing over to purchasing team for long term production Developing and executing plan for long term planning | purchasing process for outsourced item Raising demand, monitoring requirements and organising allocation of materials required by the outsource vendor Liaising with import | export where required to ship free issue or stock sale materials Liaising with logistics to facilitate move of materials from project inventory to manufacturing inventory Reviewing non-manufacturing material demands in line with manufacturing material demands Assisting with continuous improvement of NPI | outsourcing | material processes Maintaining SAP system appropriately What will convince us: Working in a manufacturing environment using ERP system |ideally SAP| Experience in working in materials planning Knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes Experience in working in cross functional manufacturing teams Experience in working with others to resolve technical and procurement difficulties Capable of working in a multi-product, mixed process manufacturing environment Organisational skills and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills Thorough attention to detail In order to commence working with us, the successful candidate will need the right to work in the UK.
