Mechanical Design Engineer

Due to a surge in demand for products in the Renewable & Electrification sectors, Serve Talent have partnered with a successful manufacturing business to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer for their facility based on the outskirts of Thetford, Norfolk. The team are currently undergoing a major transition from the oil and gas industry and into renewables. This offers the unique ability to work with institutions and research partners at the forefront of technology and create your own ideas and put your own mark on the direction this business is taking. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Engineering mechanical designs from scratch/template including design calculations and the production of technical engineering documentation. Manage projects throughout the Design phase whilst liaising with other areas of the business including Project Engineers, Supply Chain & Purchasing. Develop both New Product Development and R&D. Create & Maintain part lists & BOM's via an ERP system. Ideally you'll have: At least two years engineering and/or manufacturing experience within a design based role. Advanced CAD user with knowledge of one of the mainstream packages (CREO/Inventor/Solidworks), and an ability to create models and drawings quickly and effortlessly. Good understanding of materials and processes for mechanical and electromechanical manufacturing.
