About the opportunity: We are currently seeking an individual to join our mutli-disciplinary team as Senior Technician - High Throughput Analysis at our Saffron Walden, Cambridge site. You should be driven by a desire to provide excellent customer service through expert scientific input to individual projects whilst troubleshooting issues and implementing new efficiencies. In this role, you'll be supporting Scientists and Project Leaders across different projects, providing technical expertise in order to help drive progress. You'll have a passion for science and technology; a demonstrated expertise of delivering analytical UPLC-MS/HPLC support to drug discovery projects alongside the willingness to innovate. Further Responsibilities:
• Able to successfully troubleshoot issues, applying scientific knowledge to problem solve logically
• Be proactively involved in the day to day team activities to maintain good laboratory operations and minimized instrument downtime.
• Be able to work independently, using initiative to manage own workload effectively.
• To be data driven; confidence in making data based decisions and further recommendations are key to successful client collaborations.
• Attention to detail; getting it right the first time and quality control are at the heart of what we do. Requirements:
• Practical experience of working with a range of UPLC-MS/HPLC instrumentation, ideally within a drug discovery based, high throughput analysis lab environment.
• Proficient working knowledge of multiple vendor software - Waters MassLynx, Thermo Scientific Chromeleon, Virscidian.
• Strong organization and time management skills alongside an inbuilt flexibility to adapt to change.
• Excellent communication skills; these will be essential to engage and inspire our customers and be effective within a multi-disciplinary process whilst working in a matrix environment.
• Good theoretical knowledge and lab experience in HTA (High Throughput Analysis) library QC is highly desirable
• An effective team player, able to collaborate effectively with your peers.
