Care Support Worker

Peabody have an exciting opportunity for a Care Support Worker to join our team in Wivenhoe. You will join us on a full time, p ermanent basis . In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £18,525 pro rata (£9.50 per hour). Peabody are recruiting to Care Support Worker positions in the Wivenhoe area supporting people with learning disabilities and some complex health needs. You will support people to live a fulfilled life with new opportunities. This is an opportunity for the right person to join our care and support services in North Essex as a Care Support Worker . You will need to be flexible enough to work as part of a 24/7 rota (example of shift patterns; 7am - 2:30pm, 2:30pm - 10pm). Due to our locations driving is essential for this role. Please note this role does include personal care. Responsibilities of our Care Support Worker: Provide social, practical and emotional support to customers so that the individual supported can achieve their personal goals and aspirations Where required support people with all activities of daily living including providing personal care in a way the respects their dignity Participate actively in personalised support planning, ensuing that the person we support has maximum choice and control in their life Support individuals to pursue hobbies and leisure activities at home and in their community Bring ideas and enthusiasm to your role, search out new and innovative opportunities with the people you support Protect the safety of the people you are supporting, following all management plans consistently including those relating to health, diet, medication, finances and behaviour Be observant to changes in the happiness and wellbeing of the people you support raise concerns and get help where required Report concerns about abuse or safeguarding issues as per policy Assist the people you support in the day to day management of their homes, liaising with the Landlord about the maintenance and upkeep of the premises and all fixtures and fittings where required Support individuals to develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with their family, friends, carers and other professionals Assist people to observe religious, cultural and personal beliefs Promote self-advocacy and advocate where appropriate on behalf of the people you support Actively Participate in customer reviews, team meetings and training courses, as required Maintain accurate records and undertake service checks and audits as required by role Comply with, and demonstrate commitment to Peabody's equality and diversity policy Undertake any other reasonable requests from your manager What we're looking for in our Care Support Worker : GCSE English or equivalent DBS that is satisfactory to Peabody Experience of providing support to the designated client group either in a volunteering or professional role Ability to communicate effectively with customers, staff and stakeholders in plain, easy to understand English, both in writing and verbally Ability to work flexibly to meet customer needs and service requirements, including working evenings and weekends where the service requires it Ability to work as part of a team and build and maintain effective and supportive relationships with peers and partners Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals Basic IT skills to include use of Microsoft Office and ability to maintain electronic records, with attention to detail Benefits of becoming our Care Support Worker : 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays Sleep-in payments £73.89 per night Up to 4% pension contribution matched 1:1 Flexible benefits of 1% of salary with a minimum of £300 Spot Bonus awards Long Service awards Paid Induction Training and support to complete the Care Certificate (if required for the role) Paid DBS (roles that require enhanced checks will include both the child and adult barring checks) Opportunities to gain skills and experience 24/7 access to a confidential employee assistance programme line Paid Mileage at 45p per mile (as applicable) Sick payRecognition through our WOW Awards Closing date: 5pm, Wednesday 15th September 2021 If you feel have the skills and experience to become our Care Support Worker , please click 'apply' now We encourage applications from all backgrounds, communities and industries, and are committed to having a team that is made up of diverse skills, experiences and abilities.
