The role of the Engineering Team Leader is to be the figurehead of the engineering shift team reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager. They will be responsible for the day to day running of their shift and be actively involved in projects giving greater reliability to the plants. The Engineering Team Leader will have a hands on approach, a continuous improvement attitude and have the ability to deal with any eventuality by making on the spot decisions. To be a key member of the Engineering function, providing support to all other functions Delegation of work and ensuring c omplet ion of written reports on maintenance work carried out and identify future work. To ensure the best possible resolve is achieved to those issues experienced, in order to meet the reliability requirements of the Bakery production schedules. To be part of a team providing essential maintenance operations, whilst maintaining Health & Safety and Food Safety Standards, abiding to GMP and food handling hygiene standards in order to provide maximum manufacturing efficiency at the Nottingham site. The Engineering Team Leader is the on the ground "general", they possess the skills to handle any issues arising during the 24/7 operation of the factory. They are the face of the engineering department and conduct themselves accordingly, building relationships between operations, technical services and any contractors, promoting this ethic through the engineering teams. Ultimately providing a world class service to the customer "production" JOB SCOPE Financial Efficient use and accurate recording of spares and stock items Minimal production loss and waste generation through self actions People Provide daily support and dire ction to the Engineering team and site Provide effective communication routes to all site functions Systems Thorough completion of relevant documentation Complete clear and legible daily reports All support documentation and software to be kept updated Adherence to Hovis Site and departmental policies, processes and procedures Key Contacts Maintenance Manager Hygiene Coordinators Production FLM Production Senior Operative Engineering Stores person Engineering Planner Engineering Compliance KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES H&S and Qu ality driver by a dher ing to relevant legislative Regulations and Hovis Lt d policies, procedures and guidelines Liaise with Production FLM, SO, Maintenance Manager throughout the duty shift and comply to work prioritie s Provide support to visiting contractors where requested, adhering to the approved contractor process Work to Current Good Manufacturing Practices at all times Carry out best practice throughout scope of engineering activities Conduct effective Planned Preventive Maintenance tasks and generate satisfactory reports May be required to carry out duties within the production area, where relevant training must be undertaken Be adaptable and flexible to suit the business requirements To develop themselves an d their team to a professional standard , and achieve a sound technical understanding of the site process Shift coverage as and when required Ideal Experiences / Qualifications / Capabilities: Proven engineering experience Experience on food manufacturing equipment GSCE Grade C or above in English & Maths or equivalent. Have completed a Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship ONC / NVQ III / C&G 2&3 certificates 18th Edition IEE wiring regulation pass Basic computer literacy Capability to read and understand technical documentation e.g. electrical schematics Be Self motivated Hold a Full driving licence Effective verbal & written communication skills Must be flexible with hours when required to meet the needs of the business Why work for us and our benefits: At Hovis, we understand the importance of looking after our colleagues, so we provide a variety of benefits in addition to their salaries.
