Electrical Qualifying Supervisor Job Types: Full-time, Contract Salary: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year depending on experience Location: Ipswich /Norwich and surrounding areas Job description Our client, a large family run business with over 50 years in building industry are seeking a skilled Qualifiing Supervisor to join their planned maintenance team on an ongoing basis. Looking for someone who has enough experience with domestic and commercial installations for local contract. The work will be mainly in and around the Norwich & Ipswich area. Overview of Job Role:
• Ensuring that the results of inspection and testing are recorded correctly on the appropriate certificates or reports.
• To produce NICEIC certification and other required test data following work undertaken by field-operatives using the company's chosen software
• Ensuring that the business' premises, equipment, documentation and records are available for inspection when required by NICEIC.
• Have at least two consecutive year's supervisory or managerial responsibility for the standard of electrical installation work.
• Understand the Electricity at Work Regulations, current edition of BS 7671, and the Codes of Practice and guidance documents relevant to the range of electrical work undertaken.
• Understand the inspection, testing, verification, certification and reporting procedures for the range of electrical work undertaken.
• To assist with the management of the field-engineers
• To monitor the standards of the engineers' output
• To assist and support future Qualifying Supervisors as necessary
• Provide quotations, estimates and purchase materials where needed
• To provide support and technical assistance to colleagues and staff in relation to the preparation of quotes and tenders
• To undertake QS inspection visits in relation to existing and future engineers
• To attend site meetings and/or surveys as required
• Work alongside the Operation / Contract manager to deliver the contract within the set timescales by requesting the delivery of materials, labour, specialist contractors when required.
• To ensure that all aspects of site health & safety are being adhered to by all site staff Inc. Housekeeping, all site staff / visitors have signed in/out, any permits to work are completed and signed on a daily basis and the site rules for PPE are being strictly obeyed.
• To ensure the work is delivered to a good standard and any defects found are completed, all contract on site documentation has been collected and produced to the Operation / Contract manager to compile the O&M's for handover to the client.
• Although these are the main aspects of the role, it is not an exhaustive list. There may be the occasional requirement to assist with field-based electrical inspectors as may be required in order to fulfil company commitments. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Current 18th edition BS7671 qualification
• Current testing and inspection qualifications
• Electrical Level 3 NVQ or equivalent
• Good administration capabilities and I.T. knowledge (word, Excel & outlook)
• Current UKATA Asbestos Awareness online Training
• Satisfactory DBS check
• Current JIB card.
• Current Driving License
• Satisfactory DBS check
• Flexibility to work out of contracted hours
• Prepared to travel
• Team Player
• Self-motivated
• Good communication skills
