Compliance Engineer

Are you a Compliance Engineer, motivated, capable and from a quality focussed, technical engineering manufacturing background who can ensure products meet international compliance requirements and maintain external accreditations? Working in a forward thinking Quality team, you will be a key player influencing and ensuring all compliance, safety measures and process improvements from design to launch are adhered to. This outstanding and unique opportunity is part of a dynamic team developing and maintaining ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems for a market leading, successful international business. What you will be doing as the Compliance Engineer:
• Ensure all product and safety approval processes are compliant and legislative requirements are met working closely with the engineering team
• Keep up to date with all required legislation and adapting processes to meet changes
• Coordinate compliance activities (MD, LVD, EMC) for new products moving to production by working closely with the design engineers
• Compile technical files, CE Declarations of Conformity and raw materials / suppliers compliance information database and carry out risk analysis
• Maintain the audit programme to meet the requirements of external accreditations
• Support the Quality Assurance Manager with accreditation maintenance and the development of the auditing team, ensuring internal SOP's and checklists are followed
• Conduct audits as required, produce reports and findings, update information, monitor required actions, as well as researching design standards Compliance Engineer skills and qualities
• Engineering degree or equivalent with experience implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 / 14001 Quality Standards in a technical manufacturing environment
• Self-motivated, decision maker, able to confidently and diplomatically, challenge ideas and standards, able to influence the engineering teams yet work independently, demonstrating outstanding communication, planning and organisation skills too
• Audit system implementation, development of internal auditors and experience working to a standards framework
• Ability to interpret international standards, experience of working with Low Voltage Directive, Machinery Directive and Electro Magnetic Compatibility Directive (LV / MD / EMCD)
• Proficient in MS Office and knowledge of Lean manufacturing desirable
