Business Development Manager

A successful and fast growing organisation who have doubled in size in the last 5 years are looking for a Client Relationship Manager from a retail background to join their growing company. They are an independent family owned local business based in St Albans. They offer quality products and a traditional service as well as a multi-channel offering and they supply into 500 schools across the UK. This is an exciting time to join them as they continue to grow and develop. You will be responsible for the retendering and presentation of proposals to existing clients, developing relationships with current clients and renewing contracts. Approaching clients when their current contracts come up for renewal. Key Responsibilities
• To present the business to all current partners as and when required, in a professional manner- both remotely and in person
• To manage and oversee all proposals for current partners who go out to tender
• To identify and re-approach with applicable clients in a timely manner so that agreements are extended and renewed
• Identify, plan and lead best method of approach, with relevant account manager, when contacting partners nearing the end of their term
• Arrange and attend meetings with partners looking to review their range in tandem with the relevant account manager, preparing and executing presentations fully informing clients of the company's strengths, new ranges, and product
• To successfully integrate any confirmed renewed partner within all areas of the business to ensure a successful partnership i.e., to update all departments on renewed supply contracts or new agreed partner product ranges- such as marketing dept, buying dept and supply branch
• Maintain a successful communication channel throughout the initial months with renewed clients, before handing back over a successfully extended contract back to the relevant account manager to look after
• To build detailed and professional responses to tender invitations received from existing and potentially new partners.
• Offer new and forward-thinking ideas, identify and suggest market trends, to develop upon these ideas therefore generating sales
• Attend conferences around 6 times a year times per year, to generate new business and keep constant contact with existing clients
• Developing products from design stage, through manufacturing process, to ensuring within branch at a certain date What the client are looking for:
• Minimum 3 years experience in dealing with new sales tenders, pitches and contract negotiation
• Eye for detail in creating, completing and submitting tender proposal responses
• Confident and professional presentational skills in front of clients
• Clean driving license as travel around the UK will be required when presenting to customers What's in it for you:
