Honing Operator (Internal Grinder), £11-£12 per hour, 1pm Early Finish Fridays, Full time hours, Temporary to Permanent, Immediate start Job Title: Honing Operator (Internal Grinder) Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield Start Date: As soon as possible Salary: £11-£12 per hour Benefits: Free parking, pension, 28 days leave Job Type: Temporary - Permanent to the right candidate Working Hours : Monday to Thursday 8.00-4.30, Friday 8.00-13.00 Customers across aerospace, automotive and general engineering turn to our client to help them manufacture with precision and efficiency. Due to their growth they are now looking to expand their staff with additional internal grinders / honing operators with immediate start dates. Your primary role would be to set up, operate, or tend grinding and related tools that remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, or buff, hone, or polish metal or plastic work pieces. Key roles and responsibilities for the Honing Operator (Internal Grinder): Ability to setup and hone to tight tolerances and concentricity Match material to work order by size, length and material type as required by work order and blueprint. Perform in-process inspection in order to maintain specified tolerances and finishes of honed ID's Setup, operation and change-over of honing machine which might include basic maintenance Operate, set up and make necessary adjustments on all honing machines in the shop as required Be familiar with lean principles and 5/6s Troubleshoot and implement solutions to finish and sizing issues Produce at the highest level of production and quality consistently Perform all responsibilities with minimal supervision. Minimum Requirements for for the Honing Operator (Internal Grinder) : Experience working on a honing machine Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance Mathematics - Using mathematics to solve problems Ability to gauge ID sizes, lengths and finishes with appropriate 3 point dial bore gauge, ring gauges, air micrometer, tape measure and pick Ability to identify material by size, type and length and match to work order and blueprint specifications. Ability to comprehend and implement verbal and written technical instructions and blueprints. Ability to lift parts and tooling for setup, loading and unloading of machine. Ability to troubleshoot and correct minor mechanical issues.
