Operations Manager - Civils / Utilities - Essex up to £85,000 Company vehicle supplied Based in Colchester so must reside within 1 hour Manage overall operations and is responsible for the effective and successful management of labour, productivity, quality control, and safety measures, programming and delivery of projects. The operations management role requires a good experience in the field in a similar role or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Rely on extensive operational management experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and key performance indicators. Flexibility to perform a variety of tasks. Lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected, a sound commercial awareness and the ability to establish and maintain good relations with clients and workforce. Typically reporting to the Directors in all areas. Operations manager responsibilities: Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions Plan and review compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends Identify changes to the contract work Raise Early Warnings and compensation events Write programme of works Develop operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations Meet or exceed operations labour budget expectations Manage staff levels, wages, hours, contract labour to revenues Responsible for all on site supervisors, with review/approval responsibility for all operations employees Run a safe, injury/accident free workplace Responsible for all aspects of plant & equipment rentals Manage relationships with clients representatives on site Review and approve all operational invoices Serve as primary point of contact when there are client issues, this includes any issues on-site with the client facilities Communicate client issues with operations team and devise ways resolving problems and changes This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/94806953
